About
Dr. Vikas Kumar is an Assistant Professor at IIIT Vadodara – International Campus Diu, working at the intersection of Science, Technology & Society and Innovation Policy. His writing follows a consistent thread — how innovation systems, intellectual property regimes, and social institutions shape development outcomes for farmers, artisans, and rural communities across India.
His research spans the System of Rice Intensification in Bihar, Geographical Indications in Indian agriculture, the National Innovation System's role in agricultural development, and — more recently — legal-tech access to justice and financial inclusion among Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in Gujarat.
Beyond his own publications, he serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Indian Economy and Business and guides doctoral and research scholars working across biotechnology entrepreneurship, agriculture innovation, and intellectual property.
